Quick Question…

9 Mar

When it comes to personal blogs, how much is too much when it comes to sharing? Keeping in mind that the stuff you are about to offload online might just be seen by pretty much anyone with internet access and a love of reading.

P.S: I ask this because I can not afford a shrink and I feel like I am about to start posting some really personal stuff…Diary style.

In my opinion, anything you wish to say is okay, as long as YOU don’t feel it is things you don’t want others to know. You can always make just one post private if want to if you just want to write and get it out. Otherwise, blog away. If someone doesn’t like what you have to say, they don’t have to read it!

That puts me at ease, thank you. I will try to leave it tasteful though (whatever that means) πŸ™‚

There is no such thing as tasteful in the blogosphere. It’s all about reality. Good cake by the way:)

I agree with what has been said above ^^. It depends pretty much on the person itself. IF someone is supremely confident of what he/she does, anything and everything could be put forth. And, there are also those who pretend in real life- can not expect much from them…

The lesson is: you decide what you write and the world has to adjust. That is precisely the way it should be πŸ™‚
    Godspeed !

I “hear” you, I guess I just have to be comfortable with myself first. *deep breath*
Thank you fr that and for dropping by and commenting πŸ™‚

Exactly. Plus, from my own experience- this whole writing-down-things helps. One becomes confident with people reading your post…

        Pleasure πŸ™‚

I post some pretty personal stuff on my blog. At first it seemed pretty scary but the community here is great and I’ve never regretted it. Also want to affirm everything Ionia said. She speaks wisdom.

Yeah she does πŸ™‚ I like her.

Is it bad of me to admit and confess that I love reading your personal stuff especially the Question and Answer part. I am yet to ask my question though πŸ™‚

      • greenembers March 9, 2013 at 6:35 pm #

Nope, not bad at all! Feel free to ask me! It’s one of my favorite features!

If you have doubts then leave in as a draft and go back to it the next day. Amazing how a little time and space clarifys the mind.

    • A Girl Nicknamed Dee March 9, 2013 at 6:21 pm #

That’s a good idea, just in case I am not comfortable about it later right? It would be awful trying to remove it after a change of heart. Thank you πŸ™‚

You can remove easy enough but your followers will already have read it. What is the rush to publish something you are a little unsure of?

      • greenembers March 9, 2013 at 8:21 pm #

Oo, also as a follow up. You can schedule posts too. I’ve been using it a lot lately, I really love it. So stuff I want to come back and edit before it goes up I can or cancel. But also it helps push me to post stuff I think is more sensitive. Hard to explain but I like it!

You should share whatever you feel comfortable with. I might suggest creating a pseudonym making sure not to post too much information about who you are. I might even change names and fictionalize some of the events in my entries so that anyone who reads my blog doesn’t know it’s written about them.

    BTW – you’ve been tagged: http://lunastarla.wordpress.com/2013/03/29/tag-youre-it/

A penny for your thoughts?? (I would like to know what you think)
